Tracking

We are proud to offer the second “tracking” OB/GYN residency program in the country, modeled off of the Cleveland Clinic’s innovative program.  Swedish OB/GYN residents will have have multiple opportunities for tracking rotations throughout their residency with four weeks 2nd year, eight weeks in the 3rd year, and twelve weeks in the 4th year.

Residents will work with a tracking mentor to develop a cohesive educational plan based on their areas of interest. Tracking allows residents to personalize their education and more deeply explore their specialty and the subspecialties. The benefits of tracking were highlighted in this October 2019 Green Journal supplement: https://journals.lww.com/greenjournal/Fulltext/2019/10001/Tracking_A_Flexible_Obstetrics_and_Gynecology.6.aspx

Residents who plan to become specialists in general Obstetrics and Gynecology can use their tracking rotations to explore areas of interest, areas where they would like to gain specialized skills or training, or areas where they feel further dedicated time would build their skill set and prepare them to join the practice of their choice. Residents who are planning on applying to fellowship can use this time to explore their chosen subspecialty in depth, get involved in research, and build relationships with their subspecialty mentors
